Privacy Policy

This is ModouArena's policy regarding the processing of personal information.

Insol M&T Co., Ltd. (hereinafter the "Company"), in operating the ModouArena service, establishes and discloses the following privacy policy in accordance with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act, in order to protect the personal information of data subjects and to promptly and smoothly handle related grievances.

Article 1 (Purposes of Processing Personal Information)

The Company processes personal information for the following purposes. The personal information being processed is not used for purposes other than those listed below, and if the purpose of use changes, the Company will take necessary measures, such as obtaining separate consent, in accordance with Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

  1. Membership Registration and Management: Confirming intent to register, identifying and authenticating users for membership-based services, maintaining and managing membership status, preventing fraudulent use of the service, etc.
  2. Service Provision: Providing smart education content, student management, attendance management, and other services.
  3. Customer Inquiry Handling: Receiving and processing inquiries, and notifying processing results.
  4. Marketing and Advertising: Providing service-related information, events, and advertising information (with optional consent).

Article 2 (Processing and Retention Period of Personal Information)

  1. The Company processes and retains personal information within the retention and use period required by law or the retention and use period consented to by the data subject when collecting personal information.
  2. The processing and retention period for each type of personal information is as follows.
    • Member information: Until membership withdrawal (provided that, where preservation is required by relevant laws, for the applicable period).
    • Service usage records: 3 years.
    • Customer inquiry records: 3 years.

Article 3 (Items of Personal Information Processed)

The Company processes the following items of personal information.

  1. Upon Membership Registration: Name, email, password, contact number, affiliated academy information.
  2. When Using the Service: Student information (name, date of birth, gender), learning data, content usage records, attendance information.
  3. When Making a Customer Inquiry: Email, inquiry content (optional: name, contact number).
  4. Automatically Collected: IP address, cookies, service usage records, access logs.

Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

The Company processes the personal information of data subjects only within the scope specified in Article 1 (Purposes of Processing Personal Information), and provides personal information to third parties only when the data subject consents or when it falls under Articles 17 and 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act, such as special provisions of law.

Article 5 (Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing)

The Company outsources personal information processing tasks as follows for smooth handling of personal information operations.

Article 6 (Rights and Obligations of Data Subjects and Methods of Exercise)

  1. Data subjects may exercise the following personal information protection rights against the Company at any time.
    • Request to access personal information
    • Request to correct in case of errors
    • Request for deletion
    • Request to suspend processing
  2. Rights may be exercised in writing, by phone, by email, etc., and the Company will take action without delay.

Article 7 (Measures to Ensure the Security of Personal Information)

The Company takes the following measures to ensure the security of personal information.

  1. Administrative measures: Establishment and implementation of an internal management plan, employee training.
  2. Technical measures: Access right management for the personal information processing system, installation of access control systems, encryption of personal information, installation of security programs.
  3. Physical measures: Access control of computer rooms, data storage rooms, etc.

Article 8 (Personal Information Protection Officer)

The Company designates a Personal Information Protection Officer as below, who oversees personal information processing tasks and handles complaints and remedies for damages from data subjects related to personal information processing.

Article 9 (Personal Data in the Mobile App)

The ModouArena mobile app additionally processes the following personal data to provide its services.

  1. Location data: During shuttle operation, the driver (instructor) device's GPS location is collected to provide parents with the real-time vehicle location. Location is collected only while a trip is in progress and is requested only from users in the driver role. Students, parents, and operators are never asked for location permission.
  2. Push notification token: The device push token (e.g., FCM registration token) is collected and stored to send push notifications such as attendance, notices, and promotion results. You can turn each notification category on or off in the app's notification settings.
  3. Children's data (under 14): Student information is registered by the academy (franchise) and viewed through a parent account. Personal data of children under 14 is processed with the consent of their legal guardian (parent), and the company does not market directly to children.
  4. Account deletion: You can delete your account directly from My Page > Delete Account in the app. Upon deletion, personal data is erased after a 30-day grace period and is restored if you log in again within that period. Operational records such as attendance and belt/rank history may be retained in a de-identified form for academy management.

Article 10 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)

This privacy policy is effective from January 1, 2024. Any changes will be announced through service notices.
